Biography

Monty Montgomery has tried numerous jury trials, including injury and wrongful death claims, to a defense verdict.

Monty represents developers, general contractors, and numerous trade contractors in lawsuits ranging from single family residential defect claims to multi-million dollar commercial defect and development claims. In addition to his construction defect litigation practice, he defends serious injury and death cases throughout Alabama.

Monty is also licensed in Florida and regularly handles construction and injury claims in the Circuit Courts of Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, and Leon Counties. He has also represented clients in contract and fraud actions in the United States District Courts for both the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida.

Monty recently completed 20 hours of Civil Mediation Training and is now registered on the Alabama State  Court Mediator Roster. He mediates a variety of cases, including construction defects, construction accidents, motor vehicle accidents, and premises liability matters. 

​

Monty enjoys an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale Hubbell and is a member of the Mobile and Baldwin County Bar Associations as well as the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association. He is licensed in all state courts in Alabama and Florida, U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Alabama, U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He has also served the State of Alabama as a Deputy Attorney General.

Monty graduated cum laude from the University of Montevallo in 1998 and earned his J.D. from The University of Alabama School of Law in 2001.

 

He and his wife have two children and enjoy all things outdoors along the Gulf Coast.
